What is the Political Courage Test?

Ohio Congressional Election 2022 Political Courage Test

Unknown Position Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Pro choice because I would not want someone who has never met me to make decisions about my life and body.
Unknown Position Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
I support balancing the budget while keeping the present programs solvent.
Unknown Position Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
I have fought for campaign finance reform for years. Its the only thing that has a chance of saving our countrys core values.
Unknown Position Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
If they have gone above and beyond in a negative manner they should be held accountable.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
I support looking at what were spending our money on, eliminating wasteful spending, and rerouting those funds to other areas. The only area where this would not qualify would be for soldiers pay. I dont believe they are paid enough.
Unknown Position Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Unknown Position Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Unknown Position Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
All 3 of these questions have to be looked at circumstance by circumstance before giving you a completely honest answer. End goals and plans to get there make a difference, as well as a cost benefit ratio.
Yes Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
So long as we can find a way to create a program for current students that reduces or eliminates their school debt.
Unknown Position Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
There shall be no poll tax! Unless the government is going to give out free ID then no.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
This gets into the weeds. I support background checks and maybe psych exams as well as safety courses and a requirement for gun owners to keep guns in a locked place when not in use, or transportation to a place to be used.
Yes Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
Yes Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities?
Yes Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs?
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
Yes Do you support the U.S. providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
Unknown Position Do you support raising taxes, on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth?
Cost benefit ratio must be considered as well as other ways to accomplish the goal.
Unknown Position Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
Depends on the reasons for the barrier.
I will give you my top one. Campaign finance reform. Codifying an exact system of campaign finance policy that is the same for every candidate on a per person in district basis. Here there are your funds, your competitors get the same, no favoritism allowed in pricing. Without which greed will continue to rule the day in all of its many forms.
